Fire Industrial Roller Shutter Doors
SABS approved SANS 2 hr rated Industrial roller fire shutters are designed to close automatically in the event of fire. These Doors are designed to protect the opening against fire for a minimum of 2 hours.
Two types of mechanisms are available:
Fusible link (manual)
This fire shutter is designed to stay open at all times and will automatically close when the fusible link detonates at 75° degrees Celsius there by closing the fire-proof curtain. Fusible links can only be used on small to medium sized fire shutters approximately 2.500 High as the rate of descent cannot be adequately controlled with this type off mechanism.
Electrically Operated
Two types of electrical systems are available to operate fire shutters.
- Single or three phase motor systems can be interfaced with the buildings existing fire detection system or fire panel i.e. the signal from the fire detection panel will activate the motor and close the fire shutter in the event of a fire or test.
- Electric motor with fusible link (only available in single phase) thus is a closed system and does not require a signal from a detection system. Instead the fusible link is incorporated into the motor system and when activated will cause the fire shutter to descent at an acceptable rate.
